  • Step 1: Review the photo requirements
Review the photo requirements before submitting your photo. Photos that do not meet the requirements will be rejected, and you will need to submit a new photo and your government-issued ID.
  • Step 2: Submit your photo online
    1. Log in to your CloudCard account using your network credentials.
    2. Read and Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
    3. Select the Tap to upload your photo box and either take your photo on-the-spot if using a mobile device or select a photo you already have saved.
    4. Click Next.
  • Step 3: Upload your government-issued ID
    1. Upload a copy of your valid government-issued photo ID by selecting the Tap to upload your photo box.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Once you are satisfied with your photo and ID, click Save & Submit.

    Your photo ID must:

    1. Be valid (not expired) at the time of your submission.
    2. Be one of the following accepted government-issued IDs:
      1. Driver's licence
      2. Passport
      3. Canadian citizenship card
      4. Permanent resident card
      5. Provincial photo ID card
    3. Show all four corners of the ID.
    4. Be uploaded as a JPG or PNG file.
Once your photo is approved, your ID will be permanently deleted from the system.
  • Step 4: Wait for your approval email

If your photo meets our Ucard requirements, an approval email will be sent to your ontariotechu.net account within 2 to 3 business days.

    Please note:

    1. Processing times may be longer during peak periods (i.e. fall and winter semester start).
    2. If your photo does not meet our requirements, you will be asked to resubmit your photo and government-issued ID.
  • Step 5: Access your Ucard

Once you have received your approval email, access your digital Ucard through our Ontario Tech Mobile app.

If you need a physical card to access campus buildings or rooms, submit an access card request through the Forms and procedures web page. Access card requests are processed by the Office of Campus Infrastructure and Sustainability (OCIS).
