Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Professional Management Certificate Program

Overview:

The Professional Management Certificate Program consists of five (5) courses designed to enhance the managerial effectiveness and leadership abilities of today's business professionals. These courses provide a solid foundation of business skills and practices for supervisors, managers, and technical professionals who require functional management and leadership training.

Participants may choose to complete all five courses listed here to receive a formal certificate or may choose any individual class to best suit your training needs.

Options: 
  • Register for full program (i.e. all required elements) and receive a formal certificate upon successful completion; or
  • Register for any individual class(es) to best suit your training needs.

RIBO accreditation

All classes in the Professional Management program are Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Continuing Education Program accredited courses.

Please note that for RIBO spot check purposes, individuals must maintain the continuing education certificates/letters for 5 years to indicate compliance with the Continuing Education Program.

Online course delivery is a synchronous format. This means you must attend the virtual class at specified date and time.

Google Meet or Kaltura Virtual Classroom (through Catalog) will be used for online delivery of this program to support interaction and engagement.

This course includes, but is not limited to:

Full program: $1950 CDN for five (5) classes + HST

Individual course: $450 CDN per individual classes + HST

You can register for this course through the secure online registration form. All course fees must be paid at the time of registration.

To obtain the University Certificate the participant must:
  • Register and make full payment for the certificate option;
  • Attend each required online course;
  • Actively participant in components of each online course; and
  • Successfully complete any assigned work.
Those completing the Professional Management program or its individual classes are subject the policies of Ontario Tech University and Continuous Learning. Ontario Tech policies can be found in the Policy library. Continuous Learning policies can be found in the Regulations section of the Continuous Learning website. Specifically, those completing the Professional Management program or its individual classes are expected to adhere to the the General and Open enrolment regulations.

Professional Communications Certificate

This specialized Ontario Tech University five-course (5) certificate program concentrates on the written, verbal and practical leadership skills required by managers, supervisors and professionals. This program expands on the Professional Management Certificate by concentrating on the immediate skills necessary for everyday performance.

Note: courses in the this program can be taken independently.

This specialized 3-hour workshop focuses using social media to enhance sales through building meaningful connections with quintessential professionals.
