Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Ultimate Minecraft

Ages 10 to 14

Capacity: 40

Build together in Minecraft and learn new skills including character skins, custom maps and installing modifications. Along with learning new skills, campers will also learn to build more technical and creative circuits. Campers will explore advanced features of Minecraft.

Important note: Tablets, other mobile devices and gaming consoles are not sufficient for this camp. Campers must have a computer with their own copy of Minecraft Java Edition installed before the start of camp to participate.

Video conferencing

  4. Webcam*; and
  5. Audio device (examples: speakers, headphones/earbuds, headset).

Minecraft
  1. Minecraft Java Edition
    • Campers must have their own copy of Minecraft Java Edition installed on their computer. Tablets, other mobile devices and gaming consoles are not sufficient for this camp.
Recommended computer specifications for Minecraft:
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 3210 | AMD A8 7600 APU or equivalent.
  • RAM: 4 GB RAM.
  • HDD: 180 MB to 1 GB available space.
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon R5 series | NVIDIA GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series.
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later.
  • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 or better.
Physical materials may be required for camps. A materials list and/or material kit pick-up instructions will be provided to registrants prior to the start of camp.

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervision of their children.

Support needs will vary by camper.

Support may be required by parent/guardians or older child for:
  • initial computer and program launch
  • internet connectivity
  • technical issues that are not related to Google Meet or Minecraft
