Working Apart, Coming Together

Nurses are known for their dedication to providing quality care to their community. So when COVID-19 hit our region, it was no surprise that faculty, staff and students from our Faculty of Health Sciences came together to equip local hospitals with the critical resources needed to assist patients.
Social media can be a double-edged sword. It gives us that connection to loved ones that we need right now but serves up an overwhelming amount of information at the same time. Faculty of Education researcher Dr. Jennifer Laffier’s work looks at mental health in the digital age, and suggests we embrace the arts to help our mental health.
Widely known as a one-of-a-kind testing and development facility, our ACE Wind Tunnel has transformed into a production facility during the pandemic to support our community. With our partners at Ontario Power Generation, we can print and assemble personal protective equipment for health-care workers across the province.
