Update 10: April 8, 2021
Good morning research community,
Effective Thursday, April 8, at 12:01 a.m., all of Ontario is subject to a stay-at-home order as announced by the Province of Ontario. I would like to inform members of the research community at Ontario Tech that my last communication on Research update: April 5, 2021 still applies:
- Approved on-campus research can continue under the current framework. Approved researchers should continue to use the email confirmation sent to them on April 5 in the event they are asked to confirm their on-campus access.
- New requests for on-campus research activities will continue to follow the on-campus research approval process –Stage 3 of the Stages to Resume Research Activities on Campus.
- The Research Ethics Board (REB) suspension of all research involving in-person contact with human participants remains in effect.
Please ensure continued vigilance with approved safety measures to ensure a safe research environment. If you have questions, please contact your Faculty On-Campus Research Committee lead or refer to the Health and Safety website.
Ontario Tech University will continue to limit access to buildings and facilities to those attending previously approved in-person classes and labs, and on-campus essential services. These measures will remain in place for at least four weeks. Where possible, researchers should consider ramping down on-campus research activities during this time.
Again, thank you everyone for your continued support and efforts to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure to our research community. I will be in touch if anything changes. Please continue to stay safe and healthy.
