Effective May 2, 2022, most library spaces are open at full capacity. The University’s mandatory mask requirement remains in effect.

Available Services
A Book Return bin is accessible at the North Oshawa location when the Library is closed. Please note: there may be limited access to the Book Return bin at 61 Charles St. on evenings and weekends.
During Library hours of operation, the following services are available in the Library:
- All library material can be accessed and the circulating collection is available for loan
- Staff are available in-person and by phone at the Service Desk to assist with your library needs
- Colour and black and white printers and copiers

- Collaborative study space on the 1st floor
- Library Labs/Classrooms open for scheduled classes only
- Individual study seats on the 2nd and 3rd floors
- Public computer workstations on the 1st and 2nd floors
- Group study rooms (maximum capacity is 4 people in 2nd floor rooms, and 8 people in 3rd floor rooms)
- Fireside Reading Room
- Silent Study rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors
- Adaptive technology space for students with accessibility needs
- Washrooms

Food & Drink
Food and drinks are not permitted in the Library in order to comply with the mandatory mask policy on campus.

Masks must be worn in the Library at all times. No eating is permitted.

Online Resources
Search Omni, our Library’s online search tool to access the Library’s ebooks, online journal, and newspaper articles, streaming video, and more. Login for access 24/7 with your campus network login credentials.
Research Guides are curated by your Librarian to highlight the best resources for your assignments and projects.
Databases A-Z lists all of our subscription databases. Filter this list by subject or format to quickly find sources for your research.

Interlibrary Loan
Our Interlibrary Loan service is available at no cost to students and faculty.
We are currently fulfilling requests for material not held in our Library collections, including electronic articles and single ebook chapters. Interlibrary Loan is not available for print journals or print books.

Returns & Renewals
Login to your Library Account to view material currently on loan, renew material and confirm due dates.
All regular loan periods, due dates and fines apply to borrowed material. Please either renew or return Library material in order to avoid overdue fines.
For returns, a Book Return bin is accessible 24/7 at the North Oshawa Library. There may be limited access to the Book Return bin at 61 Charles St. on evenings and weekends.

Requesting Books: Delivery & Digitization
You can place requests for books that are currently on loan or in the library for pick up at the North Oshawa Library or the Library at 61 Charles St. or mailed to you within Canada.
You must be signed in to Omni to place requests. Click the Request button under Get It in the Omni record, and complete the required information. You will receive an email notification when the item is ready for pickup or contacted regarding mail options.
The Library also offers Digitization for single chapters or single articles from print books and journals. To request digitization, click on the Digitization button under Get It in the Omni record, and complete the required information. Digitization requests are subject to the limitations of the Copyright Act and Fair Dealing.

Course Reserves
Electronic Reserves are available through the new Leganto Course Readings service, and delivered seamlessly in Canvas.
We are currently accepting faculty course reserve requests. Please note that faculty need to complete a Course Reserves Request form in order to ensure that material is available on reserve.

Librarians are here to support teaching and learning. Subject Specialist Librarians are available to deliver customized instruction sessions and workshops to help students develop their skills to find, evaluate and ethically use information from a variety of sources. We offer live-online sessions as well as asynchronous sessions delivered through your Canvas course website.
