Dr. Isabel Pedersen champions an approach to AI and digital life that integrates and prioritizes human values, critical reflection and social equity. Her research examines the ethical, cultural and political dimensions of AI and emergent digital technologies.

Her work spans topics such as:

  • Algorithmic culture: AI-driven algorithms that shape everyday life, influence cultural trends and impact human decision-making in digital spaces.
  • Embodied computing: Wearable, implantable and ingestible technologies that merge the human body with digital systems to enhance health, capability and connection.
  • Generative-AI writing in higher education: AI writing tools that transform learning, creativity and academic integrity in universities and classrooms.
  • Ethical decision-making: Frameworks that guide responsible AI design and use, ensuring fairness, accountability and transparency.
