Dr. Karla Dhungana Sainju's research focuses on corrections and community corrections, including the use of electronic monitoring for pretrial release and post-conviction supervision, alternatives to incarceration, women in the criminal justice system, and justice-involved veterans. She also engages in research on bullying, which includes macro and micro-level influences on bullying, bullying roles, xenophobic and race-based bullying, and big data and social media.
