Mr. Donato Ardellini

Doctor of Laws, honoris causa

For his visionary leadership in the Canadian environmental management sector, commitment to higher education philanthropy, and dedication to community, the university proudly confers upon Mr. Donato Ardellini the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.  

Mr. Ardellini is the Founder and CEO of Environmental 360 Solutions (E360S), a company that provides waste management solutions to municipalities and environmental clients. Under his leadership, E360S has become a trusted and forward-thinking industry leader, significantly expanding its presence across North America.  

With more than 30 years of experience in the waste management sector, Mr. Ardellini founded National Waste Services (NWS) in 2000, transforming it from a single-truck operation into a major company serving more than 400,000 households and numerous commercial clients. Following NWS’s merger with GFL Environmental Inc. in 2008, he continued to drive innovation and growth in the industry.

E360S launched in 2018, and under Mr. Ardellini’s leadership the company has expanded through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Today E360S serves markets across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia.  

Beyond his business achievements, he is deeply committed to philanthropy. In 2022, he made a generous $125,000 donation to Ontario Tech, establishing annual student awards in three categories—Business, Undergraduate, and International— in honour of his daughter Cienna, an Ontario Tech graduate. This gift reflects his dedication to creating educational opportunities and supporting student success. 

Alongside his spouse, Charlatta Ardellini, who contributes her expertise in business customer service to their family ventures, Mr. Ardellini remains actively engaged in charitable initiatives. Together, they support events that promote environmental sustainability and advance educational initiatives, reinforcing their commitment to making a positive impact in their community.
