Overview

Professionals in the energy sector rely on data to understand production, consumption, efficiency, and operational performance. Microsoft Excel is commonly used to organize, clean, analyze, and visualize this information in a practical and accessible way. In this course, learners will perform basic descriptive and diagnostic data analysis using Microsoft Excel to identify anomalies and better understand energy-related datasets. Learners will clean data, calculate central tendencies, create basic visualizations, and apply correlation and regression analysis to help resolve a data problem within an energy company. Suggested prerequisite experience: Learners should have basic computer literacy, including navigating websites and downloading and saving files. 

The time commitment for course completion is approximately 5 to 7 hours.

What you'll learn

This offering includes assessment support from a Marker-Grader who reviews submitted assessments and provides feedback. Learners may have the opportunity to revise and resubmit assessments based on the feedback received, in accordance with course requirements.

Marker-Grader support

This offering is supported by a facilitator who is available to answer learner inquiries and provide feedback on assessments. Learners will have two chances to successfully complete each assessment by the specified deadline(s), after receiving feedback from the facilitator.

Learners will receive a digital badge for individual course completion.
