Overview

In the energy sector, Python can be used to automate the analysis of large datasets, making it easier to identify patterns, trends and anomalies in energy consumption and production.

In this course, learners will perform basic ETL processes, including extracting, transforming and loading data, while applying descriptive and diagnostic analytics using Python. Learners will clean data, calculate key metrics, create visualizations and analyze relationships in energy data to generate meaningful insights.

The time commitment for course completion is approximately 5 to 7 hours. Once registered, learners will be given a maximum of 10 weeks (70 days) to complete the course.

What you'll learn

Learners will perform basic ETL processes and use Python to conduct descriptive and diagnostic analysis. They will learn how to extract relevant data points, clean and transform datasets, calculate central tendencies, sort data, create visualizations and identify trends.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to use Python to analyze energy consumption and production data, recognize patterns and anomalies, and apply correlation and regression analysis to support problem-solving and decision-making.

This micro-credential course is self-directed and self-paced.

This micro-credential course will be delivered fully online with no scheduled lectures. Learners must complete the course independently, within the given timeframe.

Once registered, learners will be given a maximum of 10 weeks (70 days) to complete the course.

Facilitator support

This offering is supported by a facilitator who is available to answer learner inquiries and provide feedback on assessments. Learners will have two chances to successfully complete each assessment by the specified deadline, after receiving feedback from the facilitator.

There are no additional materials required. 

A micro-credential is a digitally-recorded recognition of a specific skill. It is a portable communication tool that represents evidence of your skills for employers, educators, and peers.
