Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Enterprise Applications Committee

OVERALL MANDATE

The Enterprise Applications Committee (EAC) has been formed to ensure new and ongoing Enterprise Application (EA) system initiatives align with the vision and strategic objectives of the University. The EAC forum provides a platform for department leads across the institution to learn and discuss practices, policies and procedures pertaining to enterprise-level technologies. The committee will collaborate and influence technology development for the Universities digital ecosystem to drive operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMITTEE

  1. Maintain current knowledge to provide recommendations to enhance and maintain EA systems.
  2. Align the strategic use of emerging IT technologies to transform EA systems with current OT business priorities
  3. Advocate and promote best practices and efficient use of EA systems to enhance the experience of the university community.
  4. Provide a discussion forum to discuss effectiveness of existing EA systems and help evolve systems and services to support administrative activities.
  5. Review and provide recommendations for EA related projects and technology architecture initiatives
  6. Provide input to evolve the IT Strategic Plan for university-wide IT policies and standards pertaining to EA systems

GOVERNANCE

The Enterprise Applications Committee will serve as an advisory to Budget & IPPC

FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS

Once every quarter at minimum or as required by the committee members

COMMUNICATION

Committee shall prepare agenda items that are in line with the terms of reference of the committee and will draft a summary of the meeting outlining the topics discussed and the actions required. Committee members are responsible for discussing EA initiatives within their internal teams, soliciting feedback and providing shared input into EAC discussions.
