Wind engineering research is supported through advanced testing environments, including ACE, where systems can be evaluated under controlled conditions. On campus, one of Canada’s largest geothermal systems supports heating and cooling across university buildings, demonstrating the use of renewable energy in a working environment.

Research and learning in this area support the development and use of renewable energy systems across applications in infrastructure, buildings and energy networks.

Students in the Energy Engineering program explore renewable systems such as solar, wind and geothermal as part of their studies.
