We Are All Treaty People
Treaties Recognition Week is a time for understanding and respecting treaty rights, the relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, and their relevance today.
This year, Treaties Recognition Week is November 3 to 9, 2024.
Learn more about treaties, current land claims (treaties are ongoing and adaptable), and whose land you live and learn on.
The University has a number of events to highlight the significance of treaty rights, including the Wampum Belt and Cornhusk Doll workshop on Friday, November 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the First Peoples Indigenous Centre in the Centre for Collaborative Education Building, Room 141 (Durham College).
