Honorary degrees 2023

Honorary degrees recognize persons who have made an outstanding intellectual and/or scholarly contribution in their chosen field of academic eminence; have provided outstanding service and/or contributions to public service; have made major contributions in areas relevant to the mission of the university; and/or have contributed to Durham Region/Northumberland County.

On Wednesday, June 7 to Friday, June 9, the university presented honorary Doctor of Laws degrees to eight outstanding individuals who embody Ontario Tech's vision and mission.

• Ms. Christine Elliott (Thursday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m.)
• Mr. Sheldon Levy (Thursday, June 8 at 2 p.m.)
• Ms. Christina Sorbara and Mr. Edward Sorbara (Friday, June 9 at 9:30 a.m.)
• The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson and Mr. John Raltson Saul (Friday, June 9 at 2 p.m.)

On Thursday, October 12, the university presented honorary Doctor of Laws degrees to two outstanding individuals at the university's inaugural Fall Convocation ceremonies.
