Hear it from them
When I first visited the university, my attention was immediately drawn to the undergraduate laboratories. I aspired to pursue a career in research as a first step towards applying to medical school. The professors made me feel like I was more than a number on a test sheet. They pushed me to break new ground and they supported me throughout the application process to medical school. My current successes are due to my years at Ontario Tech and to the dedicated staff who continue to inspire students. The course work and core curriculum of our Science programs above are specifically designed to meet the needs of students such as yourself, who are wishing to pursue med school and professional programs.
Depending on the pathway you are interested in, it is important to research your undergraduate program of choice, as within each program at Ontario Tech you will find electives and required courses that will assist in preparing you for your future.
Applying to medical school requires preparation, often starting from your first year of undergraduate studies, and we want to make sure you are prepared by helping you satisfy the prerequisites for the majority of medical schools in Ontario.
Your second step—research and familiarize yourself with the application process:
The Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) application provides one application for the six Ontario Medical Schools and is typically available in the summer for the subsequent year. You are encouraged to apply early fall of the year before you wish to attend, and it is important to review and familiarize yourself with important dates and deadlines.
