U-Pass
The U-Pass provides students with unlimited travel on Durham Region Transit (DRT) throughout the school year. For eligible full-time students, the U-Pass fee is a mandatory ancillary fee each semester you're registered in courses.
To confirm if you've been charged the U-Pass fee:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students.
- Select My finances. In the Payment and refunds box, select Account information.
- If prompted, log in using your network credentials.
- In the search bar, enter UPASS to view your U-Pass fee for each semester.
If you've registered for courses but haven't been charged the U-Pass fee, you may be eligible to opt in. Please email upass@ontariotechu.ca around the start of the semester and include your full name and student number.
When will you receive your voucher code?
Voucher codes are distributed according to the U-Pass distribution timeline. If you’re charged the U-Pass fee after distribution begins, you’ll receive your voucher code one business day after the charge date shown in your account information.

Your fall U-Pass is here!
Fall U-Pass distribution has started and will continue throughout the semester. Your fall pass is valid from September 1 to December 31.
Check your ontariotechu.net inbox for your voucher code. If you register for courses or opt in after the semester starts, you'll receive your voucher code one business day after the U-Pass fee appears in your tuition account.
Your U-Pass works with your PRESTO card!
You'll need a physical or digital PRESTO card to access your U-Pass.
You’ll automatically get 40% off the standard fare on GO Transit when you redeem your U-Pass voucher. Plus, get free One Fare transfers when connecting from DRT to other transit agencies.
Head to the movies with your U-Pass!
Use your U-Pass for unlimited travel to Ontario Tech's very own Regent Theatre in downtown Oshawa. Check out Classic Movie Nights on the first Thursday of every month.
No ticket required—just show your physical or digital Ucard at the door and get in free!
U-Pass validity and distribution
- Fall: Your fall pass is valid from September 1 to December 31. Voucher codes are distributed starting the last week of August and distribution continues throughout the semester.
- Winter: Your winter pass is valid from January 1 to April 30. Distribution begins before the university closes in December for the holidays and resumes when the university reopens in January.
- Spring/summer: Your spring/summer pass is valid from May 1 to August 31. Distribution begins the last week of April and continues throughout the semester.
