Michelle Tobin-Krofchick
Michelle Tobin is a teacher at the Toronto District School Board with a decade of experience teaching Special Education, English Language Learners, as well as a variety of classes ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Working in a variety of roles has allowed Michelle the unique opportunity to collaborate with a multitude of instructors and learn a range of instructional methods.
Through much research and implementation of her learning, Michelle has come to understand the variety of experiences that students have with learning math, but also the struggles that come with teaching the subject. Michelle is passionate about the way in which teaching this subject has evolved, and the ways that educators can integrate mathematics into a variety of cross-curricular subjects in order to help alleviate ‘math phobia.’ Michelle enjoys working with educators to facilitate their teaching and learning of this subject matter.
