Overview

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - AQ AND ABQ COURSES

Ongoing continuous learning is an integral part of the teaching profession. Additional Qualification courses enable Ontario certified teachers to add additional teaching divisions (ABQ's) or subjects (AQ's) to their teaching certificate over the course of their career. These courses not only enhance and expand knowledge; they also advance your teaching career.

As a new Ontario BEd Grad, you are eligible to register for these courses if you meet the following requirements:
  • have completed all BEd course and practicum days prior to the AQ course start date
  • have applied to OCT and received your applicant number
NEW! AQ/ABQ courses are now micro-credentials and eligible for OSAP.
What are micro-credentials?

A micro-credential is a digitally recorded recognition of a specific skill. It is a portable communication tool that represents evidence of your skills for employers, educators, and peers. Micro-credentials are created with industry, so you can be assured that the skills you are learning are in demand and current.

Who is eligible for OSAP micro-credentials?

To be eligible for OSAP for micro-credentials, a student must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person; and, be a resident of Ontario.

For more information, please visit the OSAP website at www.ontario.ca/OSAP.
