Our Commerce program's Accounting major provides excellent preparation for an exciting career as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Our program is accredited by CPA Ontario and if you complete all required courses, you will be eligible to enter the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). You will acquire up-to-date knowledge and develop the professional judgment and critical thinking skills that are essential for today’s—and tomorrow’s—professional accountants.
Accounting graduates who are eligible for CPA PEP can apply to our Graduate Diploma in Accounting, which allows you to complete the first four modules of the PEP during the summer following graduation.
When I first started in the Commerce program here, I quickly fell in love with the people. The first day of Orientation, I met a group of incredible friends who are still by my side three years later. After attending a CPA Ontario Networking Session, I decided that the accounting path was perfect for me. The professors here want you to succeed, and will give you the connections you need to set yourself up for the career you want. Because of the opportunities given to me by the university, I have already received full-time job offers for when I graduate in 2022.
