Digital Marketing and Social Media Management Certificate Program
Overview
Continuous Learning is pleased to introduce our re-designed social media program - "Digital Marketing & Social Media Management Certificate Program".
This four-course program is designed for you to take action and launch a Social Media strategy you will implement immediately to obtain a successful ROI for your organization. By taking a methodical approach to social media -
- It’s actionable. The program is tailored for your organization so that you obtain hands-on results.
- It’s interactive. You will receive ongoing feedback from the class and the instructors to generate and inspire new ideas.
- It’s sustainable. We will be laser-focusing on time management techniques so that you can stay on top of your presence online and aligning it with your overarching marketing initiatives.
Completing all four (4) courses will lead to a University certificate awarded by Ontario Tech University.

You may use the knowledge and skills developed through this program to build and enhance your social media and digital marketing skills, such as:
- Social media managers and content creators;

Capstone Project
- Integrate and execute an effective social media campaign extend word-of-mouth awareness and be the “go-to” thought leader for your target audience;
- Develop practical strategies to position your brand properly using the right social media channels that work best for your audience; and
- Construct a time-management system to ensure you’re getting the maximum impact of your time on Social Media to eliminate overwhelm and stay focused on producing results.

Creating Content and Expanding Your Network
- Identify your target audience(s) and develop/define a digital marketing and social media strategy;
- Select the best channel(s) based on your target audience, market and content; and
- Build a content calendar to coordinate the creation, distribution and management of content.

- Understand the fundamentals of social media advertising;
- Implement "how-tos" for core social media channels;
- Increase inbound traffic and audience engagement with posts; and
- Interact with followers and manage responses to social media posts.

Online meeting times
This program has online meeting times. This means you must attend the virtual class at the specified date and time (see the Schedule tab).
Google Meet, Zoom or Kaltura Virtual Classroom (through Catalog) will be used for online delivery of this program to support interaction and engagement.
This course may include, but is not limited to:
- Content presentations and/or videos;
- Hands-on exercises;
- Case discussions and simulations;
- Group and individual work (assignments/quizzes);
- Concept and topic discussions; and
- Topic reflections.
This is an open enrolment course.
Those completing Ontario Tech University Continuous Learning open enrolment offerings (e.g. certificate programs, courses, workshops, microcertifications, etc.) are subject to the policies of Ontario Tech University and Continuous Learning. Requirements
To obtain the University Certificate you must:
- Register and make full payment for the certificate option;
- Attend and successfully complete each required course/element (see the course pages listed in the "Required elements" section above);
- Actively participate in all components of each course; and
- Successfully complete any assigned work

- Computer or device with internet access
- Stable internet or data connection
- Microphone
- Webcam*
- Audio device (examples: speakers, headphones/earbuds, headset)
*Webcam is preferred but not required.
