New students
Welcome to Ontario Tech University!
Follow the steps below to get your Ontario Tech Ucard:

Step 1: Register for your courses
Follow the instructions that apply to you for either Undergraduate course registration or Graduate course registration.

Step 2: Review the photo requirements
Review the photo requirements before submitting your photo. Photos that do not meet the requirements will be rejected, and you will need to submit a new photo and your government-issued ID.

Step 3: Submit your photo online
- Log in to your CloudCard account using your network credentials.
- Read and Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Select the Tap to upload your photo box and either take your photo on-the-spot if using a mobile device or select a photo you already have saved.
- Click Next.

Step 4: Upload your government-issued ID
- Upload a copy of your valid government-issued photo ID by selecting the Tap to upload your photo box.
- Click Next.
- Once you are satisfied with your photo and ID, click Save & Submit.
Your photo ID must:
- Be valid (not expired) at the time of your submission.
- Be one of the following accepted government-issued photo IDs:
- Driver's licence
- Passport
- Canadian citizenship card
- Permanent resident card
- Provincial photo ID card
- Show all four corners of the ID.
- Be uploaded as a JPG or PNG file.

Step 5: Wait for your approval email
If you have registered for courses and your photo meets our Ucard requirements, an approval email will be sent to your ontariotechu.net account within 2 to 3 business days.
Please note:
- Processing times may be longer during peak periods (i.e. fall and winter semester start).
- If you have not registered or your photo does not meet our requirements, you will be asked to resubmit your photo and government-issued ID.

Step 6: Access your Ucard
Once you have received your approval email, access your digital Ucard through our Ontario Tech Mobile app.

- Physical cards will only be issued to those who require proximity (prox) access to rooms and nursing badges for placements.
- If you do not meet these requirements and would like to request a non-mandatory physical Ucard, please email ucard@ontariotechu.ca.
- Note: A $10 administrative fee will apply for non-mandatory cards. For information on fees, please visit the Miscellaneous and Administrative Fees web page.

- Nursing badges are valid for the expected duration of your program. Note: If the expiry date on the back of your badge has not passed, you can continue to use your previously issued badge.
- Once your photo is approved, your nursing badge will be printed and you will be notified via email.
- If you have any questions or require a replacement nursing badge, please email ucard@ontariotechu.ca.
