Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED Level C

This one-day course, offered in partnership with Durham First Aid, offers lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for youth to be confident in their ability to help themselves or others. The course meets legislative requirements for Ontario worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. The certification is valid for 3 years.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a digital certification, emailed directly to the participant from the Canadian Red Cross.

*Due to the nature of the course activities, opting in to the Durham First Aid Release and Waiver during registration is mandatory. Questions specifically about the Durham First Aid Release and Waiver can be directed to info@durhamfirstaid.com for response by a Durham First Aid representative.

8:30 a.m. to 12 noon Course instruction

12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Course instruction
4:30 p.m. Pick-up. University staff will greet parents/guardians at a designated area in Shawenjigewining Hall for pick-up.
*Schedule may change without notice. Breaks and lunch times vary and are determined at the discretion of the Durham First Aid instructor. Before/after care is not available.
  • The Red Cross

Includes any other content required by specific legislation.

  1. Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps
  2. Ability to complete a written, closed book, independently completed knowledge evaluation with a minimum mark of 75% (one on one oral test with the instructor is possible after attempting the test on their own)
  3. Learners must attend and participate in 100% of the course
  4. Learners must adhere to the Fundamental Principles
