Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

About our camps

Ontario Tech University’s 2024 Summer Camps program provides fun, hands-on opportunities for your child to learn and explore their curiosity in a positive and safe educational environment.

Our mission is to inspire kids to see STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) everywhere in the world around them.  Hands-on activities and curriculum-based learning in robotics, coding, gaming, and much more, provide an experience that is both educational and fun.  We succeed when our campers leave camp thinking that STEM is exciting and within their reach – that it could be part of their future.

Our camp counsellor to camper ratios allow for interactivity, active engagement, and support for activities. Many of our in-person camps include daily cooperative outdoor activities.

What people are saying...

Yet again, the camps were amazing for all three of our children. The best part was how interactive they were. It allowed our youngest, to discuss what was learned and interact with fellow campers in a meaningful discussion on the climate and environment. During the Minecraft camp, our camper was able to explore different websites that integrate with Minecraft in extraordinary ways. This was something our camper was not aware of and continues to explore today. Thank you for the amazing summer camps!

2023 Summer Camps

My kids absolutely LOVED the program. They enjoyed their experience here more than any other camp and have requested for more next year. I am so grateful to the University for allowing them the experience. They thrived this year and I cannot wait for next year.

Both kids loved their experience and have asked to attend more camps next summer. The quality of the programming was excellent - camp leaders were fantastic and clearly had training and experience in program development and delivery.

2023 Summer Camps

My camper loved camp so much and can't wait to go to Ontario Tech for university. Walking out to the parking lot on the last day, my camper was asking what programs they have, how much a parking pass is, already planning school for ten years later. My camper will be back next summer!

Both really enjoyed learning the tech aspects of their camps. They felt engaged and enjoyed playing outside and doing tech inside.

My child had a great experience. At first, they didn't want to attend a summer camp. After attending the first day my child thought the staff were great and they made many new friends. My child learned how to create a website and how to create a game; they were thrilled to be able to tell us about what they learned.

2022 Summer Camps

Our two campers made a few friends in Minecraft camp and wished to continue those friendships beyond the camp. I appreciated the fact that they were exposed to a higher-level learning institution and how to conduct themselves in such an environment.

Both of my children attended a coding camp and enjoyed it immensely. They both wanted to take the next coding course to learn more.

2022 Summer Camps

Both my campers loved the opportunity to interact with peers who were interested in the same types of things as they are. . . . As a parent, I love that they had a space to try new things and explore technology.

My children really enjoyed the experience. They were able to follow the directions provided, but they found room to experiment and personalize their projects which they enjoyed too.

Our child says it was great, fun and they enjoyed doing the 3D printing. Our child enjoyed making the teepees and mixing the pigments. Overall, as parents, we were very impressed with everything.
